A beautiful and diversified suburb. On the North Western side the homes flank the hillside just above the coastline with fabulous sea & mountain views, these are some of Nelson’s more expensive homes. Up and over the hill you find yourself on the Nelson City side with an outlook generally towards hills and a few with sea views. On the city side practically all the homes are in elevated situations. The pricing on these homes is often in stark contrast to those on the coastline side.

The Cliffs is one of the newer satellite suburbs here on the coastal side, and here, courtesy of the 180 degree sea and mountain views, many homes are close to, or over the 7 figure zone.


No shops here to speak of, and that’s probably how most of the residents would like it to stay. That said, you’re really only a few minutes from shops in just about any direction.The main shopping centre of Nelson is less than a 5 minute ride away.

Public Transport

One of Nelson’s main regular scheduled bus routes runs alongside the coast on Rocks Rd on the north western side of the suburb boundaries. This is supplemented by “The Bus” which basically travels from Nelson to Tahuna up and over the hill, bisecting the suburb though here. It routes through Quebec Rd, Princes Drive and onwards to Moana & Bisley Ave’s to Tahunanui.

Many of Nelson’s great seaside restaurants like the Waterfront Cafe, the BoatShed, the BoatHouse, Venice Cove, Saltwater are but a short walk / drive away [approx. 1 ~ 1.25km ] down near the Quay. Less than a 5 minute drive away in Nelson you have a wonderful choice of restaurants sure to please all tastes. We have nearly 50 restuarants in Nelson-Tahuna-Stoke, from Indian, Turkish, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Greek, Mexican, Brewery Cafes, specialist seafood, pizzerias, NZ & Australian faire, Hotel dining, cafes and the usual fast food style there certainly something for everyone.
