They say Auctions are about emotion

Its a well known fact that often in the heat of a Real Estate auction, when you have the two most committed buyers going hammer ‘n  tongs, that those same buyers emotions will definitely affect the outcome of the auction.

When asking the buyers what happened afterwards, they will almost always state “I had a top figure in mind”, and “my bidding”….well it was a logically thought out process. (?)

The 360 Degree Auction

Click here to see above video of the “360 degree auction” that features twin auctioneers.

This auction method, that McDonalds Real Estate in Melbourne use, would certainly be high on that “interactive” list, and I haven’t heard of it being trialled in NZ yet?

Thanks Campbell Scott (@campbellsc0tt) for the headsup on this.

The latest Live Nelson publication is due in your letterbox this week.

This chart is on its back page, and with just over 3 weeks to go, its still a race.

In the same publication on Page 6 is an update on the Solar City / Solar Saver Scheme.

In related news it was heartening last month to see the Nelson City Council behind a nationwide campaign to introduce similar schemes around the country.

The Hasting Mail - Page 3 November 16th 2011

According to an article in the Hastings Mail (Nov 16th 2011) local residents up there may get a chance soon too, it commented;

The Hawke’s Bay scheme is based on Nelson’s solar saver rate scheme.

In Nelson, annual solar consents leapt from 30 to 176 after the scheme was introduced in 2009.

Adjacent to this is the clean air warm home campaigns that many NZ councils are also running, with the goal of having no open fires in the city region, and in Nelsons case no woodburners older than 1994 installed.

Absentee landlords need to be aware of this too, and if you have any questions regarding this just call or email me.
