Under what one would term normal circumstances, REINZ would probably have reported Monday at 10am the results for Jan 2011, however……as always times and things change……in fact “speed up.”
Great to see actually, good for the citizenry of Aoteroa to not have to wait till mid month, but to now know with impunity the sales results of the previous month….little more than a week after the close off of the prior one.
Caught me on the hop tonight being a Friday night and all that..…but let’s extrapolate and update you with the “now” official info in a sort of digestible format, here and now anyway.
Officially we have a median of $330,000……(and for some weird reason which kinda escapes me right now my calcs show it as $330,700.)
Again, officially the REINZ (Real Estate Institute NZ) report for confirmed sales in Jan 2011 as ;

Jan 2010 had 61 residential property sales vs 49 in Jan of this 2011, so not really figures to pop the cork on yet….but need I be the one to remind you of Nelsons historical situation.
Heres the official word from the Real Estate Institute f New Zealand;
In Nelson City the median price eased up from $329,500 in December to $330,000 last month, an increase on the January 2010 median of $315,000. Sales volume decreased from 64 in December and 61 in January 2010 to 49 last month.
