The better late than never edition…….
The official REINZ (Real Estate Institute NZ) report on December 2010 NZ Home sales states;
…..the REINZ report on sales in December indicates district median prices at the end of the year were an average of 2.2 per cent down on December 2009.
In contrast to that Quotable Value (QV) NZ released their summary for the year and that said that the Annual Property Value Change in the Average Sales Price for New Zealand was –0.9% with the actual home price of NZD$410,058.
Nelson was a bit off that figure at NZD$370, 205 but was the best finisher overall by ending 2010 with an Annual Property Value Change of 2.0%, better than any other region in the country.
The Nelson Mail jumped in with the above front page headline.
The Institute reported;
The national median ‘days to sell’ reduced slightly from 40 in November to 39 in December.
I can report that Nelson City’s median ‘days to sell’ sat at 35.5.
All in all 2010 was a reasonably stable year for our region.
The Section Situation
With the run up to Xmas, just the 7 section sales were recorded.
Here’s the official line from the Institute regarding Nelson City.
In Nelson City the median price eased from $340,000 in November to $329,500 last month, a decrease on the December 2009 median of $355,000. Sales volume also decreased to 64 in December from 91 in November, and 81 in December 2009
