I love Rural NZ BUT don’t want to give up Broadband

Yes you’d love to buy a place in rural New Zealand.

But what about that home business / study project /share trading program that works via your broadband, fast, like in the city.

How does that apply to rural New Zealand? Will I be left behind because……

“I just couldn’t live with dial-up alone”

Well help is at hand.

There is a government website here, the link below takes you straight to the NZ Broadband map.

http://broadbandmap.govt.nz/map/

That allows you to either search by an area, or even better just type in the address.

Observant ones will notice you can actually select the desired upload / download speeds over on the bottom right hand side, as well you get to choose the type, ADSL, Cable, Fibre or Wireless options to ensure you get what you want for speed.

You’ll also notice our region features in the “see how others have used the National Broadband Map” section as well….

The core focus of the joint venture is to bring together the key top of the south information and communication technology (ICT) initiatives for the benefit of all three regions (Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough Districts).

NMi is beginning to use the map to plan a business case for a fibre optic extension through Marlborough’s viticultural areas. This extension will be to the current Tasman Fibre Network which extends from Motueka in the West to Blenheim, Picton and Waikawa in the East.

So even though we may be thought of as “just a province” we still have plenty of forward thinkers locally.
