Theres that word again…..

A week ago I posted about the current mortgagee listings situation with-in the Nelson region. Upon further research, it would appear the same comments actually apply to the whole Nelson / Tasman region.

In Nelson we still have the same 3 mortgage listings (one being an agents poetic license) that I mentioned last week, so obviously other regions have increased slightly for interest.co.nz to go out with the following……

“listings for mortgagee sales on trademe and realestate.co.nz edged up to a record high 616 in the last week from 606 last Monday, our survey of these websites found. This is more than treble the levels seen when we started the survey in March last year.”

And just in case we needed some prompting………

Our ’stress’ index, which measures the proportion of listings that use the phrases ‘motivated’, ‘desperate’, ‘urgent’ and ‘must sell’ is near record highs at around 6.2% of all listings.

Has anyone read the news, we do not have as many real estate agents as there were in 2005? Could it be that some agents are stretching their headlines and copy a bit too far, obviously in the interests of a sale. And “stress” test, now tell me that name was not created for the media.
