Lets just say, not here, not now…..

..though I’m sure someone will say, not yet. …all this is in regards to the mention of the word mortgagee.

Interest.co headlines one of their latest articles with this banner …Mortgagee listings jump to record high in last week and follows up by mentioning  “Mortgagee listings on realestate.co.nz and trademe.co.nz leapt to a record 606 in the last week, a weekly survey by interest.co.nz has found.”

Well, just to bring you up-to-date, nothing has changed in Nelson or Tasman districts since my last Mortgagee Update on 23rd February, in fact the situation is exactly the same, with exactly the same properties still listed, as I documented then. ( the 1 x section, 1 x commercial retail/office units , and the one not really countable listing where an agent is being “headline creative”)

The article reports listings were up 11% up in 1 week, and 50% over the previous month. And the article finishes by stating ” that are mortgagee listings has risen to 0.56% from 0.50% last week and 0.21% a year ago.”

Well just for some perspective, Nelson & Tasman District listings advertised as Mortgagee Sales represent 0.03% of those 606 national listings.

Based on the data available to me, this “record increase” does not appear to be happening here.

Data – 858 listings for Nelson/Tasman on realestate.co, & 972 according to trademe.co.
