Waikato Rural Sales: 1st August Supply Update
July and August are traditionally two of the quieter months for rural sales as farmers are busy with the preparation and start of the new season. With calving already well underway throughout the Waikato, farmers have launched from cruise mode to crisis leaving little time to pursue other interests such as increasing their land holdings. It is at this time of year, possibly more than any other that good organisation and time management are vital on the farm to make certain the season gets off to a smooth start.
As the real estate market, like every other market, is dependent on supply and demand we will use this update to reflect on how the supply of available property has changed since the 1st of the previous month. Later in the month (around the 15th) REINZ release their official sales statistics and at that time we will examine how strong the demand for rural property has been. Once both data sets are available we’ll be able to further explore how the demand and supply are impacting on the Waikato market.
