Survey – Would you support a ‘Sunday only’ open home policy
Calling all agents!
If all NZ real estate companies adopted the policy that open homes could only be held on weekdays or Sundays, would you:
a) Agree with the policy?
b) Comply with the policy?
Would agree and comply with it but no open homes would be an even better option for sellers.
In Wellington open homes are Sunday only and the homes still sell. Many high value homes do not have open homes and they still sell.
So why not scrap them altogether.
A rush of replies!! Thanks for your contribution Ross.
I can confirm no one ever does open homes Saturday in Wellington.
I remember 20 years ago when we started doing them ( yes, before that the didn’t exist here!) they were both days or either. Saturdays just withered away. So it is possible often to have a no real estate Saturday. Try it…you will like it!
We would always need to comply. That goes without saying. Sunday is the day that people have the time to cruise and view properties at their leisure and to have open homes through the week would be of no consequence in our small community.
Sunday or none – bring it on. We got the best prices and the quickest sales through private appointments this year (12 Sunny Brae Cres & 40 Alford St).
Let’s make this a reality.
not a problem in my area of influence (north Wellington). Sundays are the only day all agents do open homes. Open homes outside of the usual time periods on sundays (11-3.30) have no patronage. Having tried “twilight” mid week open homes and saturdays. I’ve given in, and am back to join the rest of the band with my flag out on Sunday afternoons
