We are embarking on a series of important business presentations around the country over the next five weeks. These presentations will outline of our plans and significant changes for 2011 and beyond – probably the biggest and most important transformations since we launched 5 years ago!
We would like to take the opportunity at this time to encourage all salespeople and business owners to attend this presentation. It will be only about an hour with time for questions – coffee and tea will be served. We are confident this will be time well spent.

Despite Air New Zealand’s best efforts, we managed to pull off our presentation in Dunedin last Monday afternoon – well Alistair did! Our 9am flight was cancelled but Alistair just happened to be at the airport early and was able to get the 7.15am flight (because it’s normal to be at the airport 2hrs before a domestic flight, right?!). It’s a good thing too, as myself and Jodi had to wait for a later flight via Christchurch, which only got us to Dunedin for the last ten minutes of the presentation!
With that disaster averted, we set off to Invercargill for a presentation the following morning. We got a pretty frosty reception on arrival…five degrees!! And to make matters worse we couldn’t get a nice warming garlic loaf at Lonestar, because they had run out of bread at the weekend??? Ah well, thankfully we had electric blankets to stave off the frostbite!
Things were looking up in the morning. Having had only 18 registrations for the Invercargill presentation, we were delighted to end up with an almost full house – 34 salespeople! Special thanks once again to our faithful friends from Perpetual Real Estate in Te Anau for traveling all that way to join us! We really do appreciate the effort.
Next stop was Queenstown for the final presentation on Wednesday morning. In contrast to Invercargill the sun was shining brightly but perhaps that’s a bad thing as the number of people who turned up was about half the number that registered. So it seems that the colder it is, the more people turn up. So we’ll just have to organise the Queenstown presentation during winter next time!

Last week we completed four presentations around Auckland, attended by over 200 salespeople. The majority of people came along to our Remuera presentation, with over 80 people at that one alone. So Central Auckland has nabbed the best attendance title from West Auckland! We had almost 80 in West Auckland last year, but a measly 25 turned up this year. Maybe you all just fancied a trip to Remuera instead?!

The Northland roadshows went really well last week. We had a great turnout at all three presentations, with a total of over 100 salespeople coming along. Thanks to all those who attended. Hopefully you found the session informative and thought-provoking! I’m looking forward to reading all the new blogs and profiles that will no doubt be popping up on the site over the coming weeks. No pressure!
We won’t blame you for the fact that the weather was bloody miserable either…just don’t let it happen again!

Spring’s here and we’ve come out of hibernation! We’re heading North tomorrow, starting a new series of presentations. After our trip to Taupo on 5th May, we headed to Rotorua and held a presentation the following morning at the Novotel. Thankfully we had a better turnout than we did in Taupo, with twenty seven salespeople present. Still plenty of spare seats though, as you can see from the photo below!

Last week we hit the road and headed Southbound to Taupo for our presentation at the Great Lake Centre on Wednesday afternoon. The sun was shining when we arrived and we even managed to squeeze in a quick alfresco lunch beforehand!
It definitely wasn’t warm enough to go to the beach though, so I’ve no idea what everyone got up to that afternoon, but I can tell you that they certainly didn’t come along to our presentation! We had a grand total of ten salespeople, which was pretty disappointing. In fact, special mention must go to the Harvey’s team who turned out in force. If they hadn’t turned up I think we would have had three or maybe four people present. A pretty poor show Taupo!

Following our presentations in Hawke’s Bay on 15th April, we drove on to Gisborne for our Thursday morning presentation. Well, Alistair drove and I admired the views (while there was still daylight – after that I just battled to stay awake!). There really is some stunning scenery along the way, but I’m not sure I’d like to do that trip on a daily basis. Those bends are a little stomach churning at times!
On Thursday morning we headed to the Gisborne Hotel to set up. When 9am came and went I was in a slight panic as nobody had turned up! We’ve had very small turnouts before but never a zero count! Then I realised I’d just messed up the time and the presentation didn’t start till 9.30am! Alistair called it bad management but I beg to differ. I think my psychic powers were helping us out because our projector decided to have a major meltdown that morning, delaying us by about 20mins! So when 9.30am came we were all set to go and there was a good turnout of thirty salespeople, which was great.
The only other worry was Alistair’s voice but after overdosing on Strepsils the previous night, it had recovered enough to get him through the presentation! Which was fortunate as there was no way I was stepping in!

We left Auckland bright(ish) and early last Wednesday morning and headed to Hawke’s Bay. I wouldn’t recommend the 6.50am flight from Auckland – far too early to be up and about – but at least the sun was shining when we arrived! Our first stop was Hastings for a 9am presentation at the Hawke’s Bay Opera House. This time there was no anxious waiting around for anyone to turn up, as most people turned up well before 9am. We were very impressed! We had an excellent turnout too, with over 50 salespeople present, which was great.
After the presentation, we headed to Napier and enjoyed a yummy lunch at Ujazi before our afternoon presentation at the War Memorial Convention Centre. We had another good turnout with thirty salespeople present. The only issue on the day was Alistair’s voice, which seemed to be disappearing as the minutes ticked by, but luckily he managed to get through both presentations. He doesn’t normally croak when he speaks – honest!
A number of people who attended the presentations, requested copies of the graphs which were used. So, the presentation is now online on Slideshare, where you can download it and use the graphs if you wish.
