As well as the initial qualifications required to hold a Sales Consultant’s licence in the Real Estate Industry, there are several advanced qualifications, including diploma and degree courses to be eligible to hold a full Agent’s licence.
Everybody that holds either form of licence must also complete a number of hours of annual training, being CPD.
This training is split into 2 parts; verifiable and non verifiable. There is more flexibility with who provides the training for the non verifiable. The Real Estate Agents Authority prescribes the subject matter for the verifiable training each year, and to date has been based around legislation, misconduct, disclosure, fiduciary obligations, conflicts of interest, and general compliance.
Next year we will be re-looking at the legal and physical description and representation of real estate.
This on going compulsory education for licensed real estate agents and salespeople means a higher standard of service to the public.
