Open Homes In Winter

When selling in winter, make sure that your property is warm and inviting. Over heat your property for an open home as the door will be open and warmth will be lost. Present it well, and make sure that it smells good too. Many houses don’t! Flowers and baking are effective.

Winter is a good time to be selling, and we are experiencing quite good attendances at open homes over the last month or so. There are virtually the same number of houses sold in the Winter as there are in Autumn and Spring, with less usually sold in the Summer in Feilding. Many Buyers like to see a property at it’s worst, and whether there is surface water on the section etc. There are also just less distractions in the Winter compared to the Christmas and Summer Holiday distractions in the Summer. Many prospective Vendors incorrectly think that Winter is a bad time to sell, and they hold off until the Spring. Consequently there are more houses for sale in the Spring usually, which makes a sale more difficult. If you want to sell, list today. There is a shortage of good listings.
