Congratulations to Sharon James – our Blogger of the Month for September!
Sharon was one of the first bloggers – if not the very first - on Voices when it launched back in January this year. Her Business Broker blog has gradually become one of the most valuable online resources for people buying and selling businesses in New Zealand.
Your $100 petrol voucher is on the way, Sharon!

You could be forgiven for thinking these photos are advertising a garage sale rather than a property for sale.
I know it’s not an agent’s job to clean up before taking photos but will pics like this really help to sell a property? They certainly wouldn’t entice me to check out the property. How do you handle a vendor who’s keen to sell but is not prepared to put in any effort to help make it happen?

Changing Your Password
Once you have signed up for your Voices blog, you will receive an email advising you of your login details. This consists of the username that you have chosen and a temporary password, which will be something random like agKhd21A. Thankfully you have the option to change this to something which might be a little bit easier to remember!
To do this, just login and click on the ‘Users’ tab, which is to the far right of your screen. Once you’ve clicked on this tab you will now have two sub tabs on the left of your page; ‘Authors & Users’ & ‘Your Profile’:

Click on ‘Your Profile’. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see the fields were you can enter and confirm your new password. Once you have completed the fields, just click ‘Update Profile’ and your password will be updated.
Changing the Name Displayed On Your Blog
On the same page you can also change the name which is displayed publicly on your blog. When you set up a new blog this automatically defaults to your username. This means that each time you write a post or leave a comment on another blog it will show as being written by jim08, bestagent25 or whatever you have entered as your username! You can change this so that your name is displayed rather than your username.
Still under ‘Your Profile’ you will see the header ‘Name’. Under this header you will see your username and then fields for your first name and last name. Complete those fields and update your profile. Now click on the drop down box in the field “display name publicly as” and you will have the choice to change it to your name rather than your username, as shown below:
