The prize of the long weekend!
Frankly, it’s been a busy week with a snow storm in the middle of it, not to mention the office internet server spitting the dummy – all good though and it’s nothing we hardened Cantabs can’t deal with! Last week we successfully sold 107 Bower Ave under the hammer for $190,000 (an uninsured 4 bedroom home) and while 49A Wainoni Road was passed in we are currently working on two offers.
The weekend was bliss with three relaxing days in Twizel – first on the agenda was fishing on Lake Benmore and with catching the fish of the day it certainly was worth the early 7.00am start. Equally was the remainder of the weekend – all very relaxing and a great way to recharge. Back on the coal face on Tuesday saw an $85,000 sale on another uninsured three bedroom home with a severely fractured floor slab, leaving the owner very happy to progress and purchase a new home in Rolleston.
Yesterday was my eldest daughter Elesha’s 21st birthday – those years certainly whiz by and it really doesn’t seem that long ago that I was painting her room in anticipation for her arrival. It was great to enjoy a meal with her and a few friends last night prior to the big party this Saturday. I would also like to take the opportunity to congratulate Lynette McFadden, one of the Harcourts Gold franchise owners, who also is celebrating a notable milestone this week (perhaps not 21), enjoy the occasion Lynette and may I also congratulate both you and John with your recent induction into the Harcourts Hall of Fame. It’s certainly an achievement that you both must be immensely proud of and nonetheless, an acknowledgement of your huge contribution to the Harcourts family.
As far as the local market is concerned, May saw a good number of sales written on the sales board in our Parklands office and it is worth noting that a good number of those sales were also on TC3 zoned properties. Yes there is life after an earthquake in the eastern suburbs and with the area all remaining in the “green” most people a keen to progress their insurance claims and get on with their lives, one way or another.
