Ultimate lifestyle resort in the Bay of Islands

Posted on: September 20th, 2009 | Filed in Architecture & Construction, Buying / Selling a home

eagles-nestThis has to be one of New Zealand’s premier private resort retreats – Eagles Nest; and it’s for sale!

I try to avoid using the blog to showcase property, but sometime I feel that a property deserves the attention. This is just such a property. A property that can without question be called “one in a million”. A property NZ can be proud of – a great export earner as the majority of guest I suspect would be from overseas, many experiencing NZ for the first time – what an experience!

You will need more than a lotto win to secure this resort which comprises 5 separate villas. The property is nestled high above Russell and has some of the most spectacular views across the beautiful bays and inlets that make up the Bay of Islands.

There are not many times a property like this comes up for sale and to have it featured on the website is kind of special. The task of selling it will not be easy for the team at Browns Sotheby’s but with the significant international traffic to the website from the US, UK and Australia the property is sure to recieve extensive coverage.

Article Discussion

  1. Not sure I agree with you Alistair in regard featuring this property – sure its a significant property but lots of other stunning properties come available on the site as well. You now open up the prospect of agents emailing you when they have a ‘special property’ in there mind (and who’s to decide they are wrong)requesting that you feature that property. YOU THEN PLACE YOURSELF IN THE POSITION OF JUDGE AND AS THE JUDGE YOU CAN NEVER BE RIGHT IN THE EYES OF ALL – Keep it simple stay away from the issue.

  2. Greig,

Thanks for those comments. I can see entirely where you are coming from.

For the record – I chose this property late last night because I like it – and to be honest have always held a dream of staying there!

I do not know the agent or the company selling it – we provide on the site the opportunity for paid for featured listings which do deliver strong performance of viewings (just check out the home page selection of 6 properties).

I think this blog can be a broad commentary on the property market and maybe at times highlight individual properties – be they be expensive, normal, cheap, quirky or unusual.

I do not hold myself out to be Judge – the views of readers and their comments influence the direction and content of this blog – that is the power of social media!

  3. And great Judge you are too Alistair no problem with that – its just that you do not want to make a rod for your own back or we will all want to jump on it!!!!!!!!

    Truly a great property.
