During this year we have gradually rolled out a new logo for the company. It is not something we have made a great fanfare about as we see it as an evolution.
The original logo depicting the roofline of a house was designed in 2006 when the original website was launched. It provided a clear reference to the specialisation of our business to real estate. The primary focus was to residential. Over the years we have recognised that as a specialist real estate website it is important for us to provide separate presentation for the diverse range of content we host – commercial property for purchase or lease, businesses for sale, farms for sale as well as homes for sale or rent. It was this development that promoted the launch of the specialised websites of Prime Commercial, Prime Business and NZFarms.
Separating the specialist content from the residential content allowed us to focus the realestate.co.nz website and brand more towards the consumer market of property buyers, sellers and renters. The new brand is designed to reflect this with a modern feel in its circular icon. This icon’s look and feel certainly fits with the brands presentation on the iPhone and the new Facebook and Twitter pages.
We have had some interesting feedback on the new brand – a few people have expressed the view that it is similar to a chart striking a downward path of the property market!! – far from it. That is not how we see that as reflection of how we see the future path of the industry! It is simply a stylised evolution of the original brand.
Taking the new brand onto the social media platforms of Facebook and Twitter has allowed us to add further to the direct engagement with our audience. We are delighted to have a following of over 750 on Twitter and over 400 on Facebook – we would love to have more, so come along and join us as we have lots to share on these social platforms.
Right at this moment and for the next 24 hours we are running a competition to have you select your favourite kitchen from the listings on the site at this time – your favourite kitchen to cook your Christmas meal. If you are chosen as the winner (competition closes at midday on the 23rd December) we will be sending you a free iPhone 4 with a runner up prize of a Christmas ham!
