Courts and Criminal Matters Bill benefits landlords

Creditors have often been frustrated with the enforcement processes for handling overdue fines and debts. The introduction of the Courts and Criminal Matters Bill, passed into Parliament on 7 July 2011, seeks to “deliver a fit for purpose collections system with simpler, faster and better collection and enforcement services” according to the Department of Building and Housing. The bill is being phased in over a couple of years and is due to come into effect in April 2013.
